It was an outstanding week for Barcelona Sports Academy, with its players delivering strong performances across Spain and Estonia — highlighted by an ITF professional quarterfinal, a junior quarterfinal run, and a tournament title on Spanish soil.
The academy continues to demonstrate its commitment to high-performance development, with results reflecting the hard work behind the scenes.
Lauryn John-Baptiste Reaches Quarterfinal at W15 Manacor.
Representing Barcelona Sports Academy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, Lauryn John-Baptiste reached the quarterfinals at the W15 Manacor event (23 February – 1 March 2026) on hard courts in Spain.
Lauryn opened the tournament with a determined three-set victory over France’s Cindy Langlais. After narrowly losing the first set 5–7, she responded with composure to take the second 6–4 and closed the match in a dramatic third-set tiebreak 7–6.
In the second round, she once again showed resilience. After dropping the first set 3–6 against Romania’s Briana Szabo, Lauryn elevated her level and controlled the next two sets 6–3, 6–3 to secure her place in the quarterfinals.
Her run ended against Spain’s Cristina Diaz Adrover. Despite a tight first set (5–7), the match slipped away in the second (1–6). Nevertheless, a quarterfinal finish at ITF level represents a strong result and valuable ranking progress.
Strong Junior Performances in Estonia.
On the ITF Junior Circuit, Barcelona Sports Academy players continued to impress.
At J30 Tartu (23–27 February 2026, carpet surface), she advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Varvara Trifonova 7–5, 6–2 and producing a dominant 6–1, 6–1 win over Eleanora Roos in the second round. In a tightly contested quarterfinal, she narrowly lost to Nora Olivia Adamson 4–6, 6–4, 5–7 — a match decided by only a few key points.
She then continued her campaign at J30 Tallinn (2–6 March 2026, hard court), gaining further international experience and building consistency across different indoor surfaces.
These performances reflect competitive maturity and steady development within the academy’s high-performance pathway.
Luka Tiffon Crowned Champion in Cornellà de Llobregat.
Adding a title to the week’s achievements, Barcelona Sports Academy player Luka Tiffon won the Absolut Tournament in Cornellà de Llobregat on Sunday.
Delivering confident and composed tennis throughout the event, Luka lifted the trophy after a strong final performance, confirming his excellent form on the Spanish circuit.
