This past week, the clay courts of Barcelona–Teià hosted a thrilling series of tennis matches across both the Absolute and Under-16 categories, showcasing a new generation of promising players. Among the standout performances were those of Marc-Olivier Magnin, Tristan Saglio, Adam Tamer, and Jordi Mas de Ugarte—each leaving a strong impression through their skill, focus, and determination.
Marc-Olivier Magnin emerged as the champion in the Absolute category, claiming the title after a series of confident, composed performances. His aggressive baseline play and consistency under pressure proved decisive, particularly in the final match where he dictated the tempo from start to finish. Marc-Olivier’s ability to adapt mid-match and respond tactically to his opponents made him the undisputed standout of the tournament. His win in the Absolute division not only reflects his current form but also positions him as one to watch as he transitions to higher-level events.
In the Under-16 category, Tristan Saglio reached the final after a series of impressive wins, demonstrating maturity beyond his years. His semifinal match was particularly noteworthy, where he came back from a set down, showing remarkable mental strength and tactical intelligence. In the final, although he narrowly missed out on the title, Tristan showed that he belongs at the top level of his age group. His game is built on precision, smart shot selection, and calm under pressure—qualities that suggest a bright future ahead.
Adam Tamer also had a strong showing in the Under-16 draw, reaching the semifinals. Known for his speed and athleticism, Adam made life difficult for each of his opponents, chasing down every ball and turning defense into attack with seamless transitions. While he fell just short of reaching the final, his performance was a testament to his growing confidence and consistency on clay. With further development, he has all the tools to contend for titles in the near future.
Meanwhile, Jordi Mas de Ugarte delivered a solid performance at a prize money tournament held in Figueres, Girona, where he reached the semifinals. Competing against a strong field, Jordi showed consistency in serve, confident shot execution, and growing strategic awareness. While he did not progress to the final, this result confirms his steady rise in more demanding tournaments and reflects the hard work he has invested in recent months.
On the international stage, Alpay Güler secured a commanding victory at the ITF Junior J30 tournament in Izmir, Turkey. Winning the final with a score of 6–2, 6–2, Güler displayed power, accuracy, and calm execution throughout the match. His run in Izmir was dominant from start to finish, affirming his ability to compete and succeed at the ITF junior level. This win adds an important title to his resume and sets a strong foundation for the remainder of the season.
