These outstanding international performances demonstrate the great competitive spirit, dedication, and resilience of all the athletes.

It was another exciting week for Barcelona Sports Academy players and friends, with strong performances across both the professional and junior circuits. From title-winning runs and finals appearances to valuable experience gained at high-level international events, our athletes once again demonstrated their dedication, resilience, and competitive spirit.

Gwendolyn Fedel Captures J100 Bucharest Title

The standout result of the week came from Gwendolyn Fedel, who claimed the J100 Bucharest singles title in Romania.

After receiving a first-round bye, Gwendolyn produced an exceptional run through the draw, defeating Rafaela Simeonova, Viola Severi, Kristyna Dulikova, and Teodora Miron before meeting Romania's Ana Ioana Varsa in the final.

In a high-quality championship match, Gwendolyn showed composure and determination, winning a tight opening-set tiebreak before securing a 7-6, 6-3 victory to lift the trophy. Winning a J100 event is a significant achievement and a well-deserved reward for an outstanding week of tennis.

Mia Horvit Reaches W35 Bol Doubles Final

Mia Horvit enjoyed one of her strongest weeks of the season at the ITF W35 Bol tournament in Croatia.

Competing in singles with a wildcard entry, Mia opened her campaign with a confident 6-4, 6-2 victory over France's Amandine Monnot before facing China's Xinran Sun in the second round.

Her biggest success came in doubles alongside India's Vaishnavi Adkar. The pair produced a series of impressive performances, reaching the final after three consecutive victories. Their run included dominant wins in both the opening round and quarter-finals before a strong semi-final performance secured their place in the championship match. Although they finished as runners-up, reaching the final at W35 level represents an excellent achievement.

Julia Adams Advances to W15 Quarter-Finals

Julia Adams continued her solid form with a quarter-final appearance at the ITF W15 Szentendre tournament in Hungary.

She opened the tournament with a hard-fought victory over Italy's Federica Bilardo before defeating Hungary's Kitti Molnar in straight sets to reach the last eight. Julia's run ended in a closely contested quarter-final against Slovenia's Pia Lovric, where she pushed her opponent all the way before narrowly missing out on a semi-final place.

Her performance once again highlighted her consistency and ability to compete successfully at professional level.

Gabriella Julianna Coetzee Enjoys Strong Week in Pretoria

At the J60 Pretoria event in South Africa, Gabriella Julianna Coetzee delivered impressive performances in both singles and doubles.

In singles, she secured two victories during the group stage, including a dominant win over Jesse De Villiers and a dramatic three-set triumph against Namibia's Mari Van Schalkwyk. Gabriella demonstrated tremendous fighting spirit throughout the competition.

In doubles, partnering Joanivia Bezuidenhout, she opened with an emphatic 6-0, 6-1 victory before reaching the quarter-finals, where the pair were eventually stopped by a strong Zimbabwean team.

Lauryn John-Baptiste Starts Strong in Portugal

Lauryn John-Baptiste has begun her week at the ITF W50 Montemor-o-Novo tournament in Portugal in impressive fashion.

Competing in the qualifying draw, she recorded a commanding 6-1, 6-0 victory over Brazil's Giulia Pereira De Aguiar to advance to the next round. The result provides a strong foundation as she looks to secure a place in the main draw of one of the week's strongest tournaments.

Valuable Experience for Lia Karatancheva

Lia Karatancheva competed in the main draw of the ITF W75 Kursumlijska Banja tournament in Serbia.

Facing local player Lola Radivojevic in the opening round, Lia battled hard before falling in straight sets. While the result did not go her way, competing at W75 level continues to provide important experience against high-quality opposition and remains a valuable part of her development.
